HISTORY OF SOCIETY

YBOM (Yolanda Busse, Oehen Mendes & Associados, S.P., R.L.) continued the law firms of its founders and was incorporated in 1984. It is currently registered with the Bar Association under number 3/84.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the firm dedicated itself primarily to assisting foreign investors (mostly German-speaking) in Portugal, namely through the constitution and legal support of industrial and commercial activities in northern Portugal, providing all the necessary legal support, from obtaining the requisite permits and investment incentives to negotiating and making labour agreements, contracts for purchase and sale of industrial and commercial premises, tenancy agreements, etc.

Subsequently, the firm increased and diversified its offer, while maintaining its “core business” focusing on commercial and company law. With expertise in the areas of Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law, Tax law and litigation, the firm also has a vast experience in other areas of Law, such as Nationality Law, Immigration and Investment, Administrative Law, Contract Law, Civil Liability, Banking and Insurance Law, Insolvency Law and Business Recovery, Credit Recovery and Litigation.

The firm is comprised of a team of highly skilled professionals, who value dedication, ethics and professional excellence. The senior partners, recognized specialists in their fields, are directly and personally involved in the matters entrusted to the firm, assuring Clients the benefit of their experience and know-how while remaining permanently accessible.

The firm has always been well in the vanguard of legal practice in many areas. Indeed, it was one of the first to be established in Portugal, where the tradition for many years was that of sole practitioners who would share premises and resources but were not fully integrated with other lawyers in a firm.  In addition, we have a strong network of specialists who work with us both nationally and internationally, to supplement our in-house areas of expertise.
